The Tarbais Bean Cooperative was established in 1988 to produce and market tarbais beans.
It is subject to two specifications: IGP and Label Rouge which defend a traditional quality agriculture.
About 60 farmers are affiliated to the cooperative to produce an average of 145 tons per year on 150 hectares of land. Harvesting is done manually.
Tarbais beans are rich in fiber and vegetable proteins, low in fat and starch.
